- 다문화 지향성의 변화와 영향요인 분석 : 다항로지스틱 회귀분석 적용 -
본 연구의 목적은 코로나 19 확산으로 외국인 이민자에 대한 사회적 배제와 혐오 정서가 심화되고 있는 상황에 서, 다문화 인식이 어떻게 변화하였으며 이에 영향을 미치는 요인이 무엇인지 탐색하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 본 연 구에서는 2021년과 2014년에 시행된 국민인식조사 자료를 활용하여, 다문화 지향성의 차이와 영향요인을 분 석하였다. 분석결과, 2014년에 비해 2021년 다문화 지향성에 대한 국민의 전반적인 인식의 유의미한 변화는 발견되지 않았다. 그러나 다항로지스틱 회귀분석 결과, 다문화 지향성에 대한 영향요인의 변화가 발견되었다. 2014년에는 학력, 소득수준, 거주지역, 직업유형이 단일민족지향 및 다문화지향 인식에 주요한 영향요인으로 작용한 반면, 2021년에는 이념 및 연령이 주요 영향요인으로 작용하였다. 구체적으로 진보적 성향일수록 다문 화지향 인식이 높았으며, 연령이 증가할수록 다문화지향 인식이 높게 나타났다. 또한, 코호트 분석결과, 산업화 세대에 비해 IMF세대와 X세대가 다문화지향 인식이 낮게 나타나, 코호트 간 인식의 차이를 발견하였다. 연구의 주요 발견에 근거하여 논의 및 정책적 함의를 제시하였다.
What are the Factors Influencing the Change in the Multicultural Attitudes? : Applying Multinomial Logistic Regression
This study explores how multicultural perception has changed and what factors influence it in a situation where social exclusion and hatred towards foreigners and immigrants are deepening due to the spread of COVID-19. In this study, changes of multicultural attitudes and factors affecting them were analyzed using data from the public perception survey conducted in 2021 and 2014. Analytical results showed that there is no significant change in the overall perception of multicultural attitudes. However, it presents the changes in the influencing factors on multicultural attitudes. In 2014, educational background, income level, residential area, and occupational type were major factors on the perception of mono-ethnic or multicultural orientation. In 2021, ideology and age were analyzed as major factors. Specifically, the more progressive the tendency, the higher the perception of multicultural orientation. A significant finding is the age effect, and as the age increased, the perception of multiculturalism was higher. In cohort analysis, the IMF and X generation showed a lower perception of multicultural orientation than the industrialization generation.
